Headaches and Chronic Headaches - Symptoms & Treatments

Updated: Sep 9, 2020

If you are suffering from headaches, the doctors at Natural Care Chiropractic want you to be informed of additional treatment options beyond what you may encounter from regular chiropractic or allopathic care.  Where a headache occurs depends on what is causing it. You may experience an aching feeling that includes blurred vision, nausea, and light-headedness. While over the counter drugs are available, recurring headaches indicate an underlying problem that drugs aren't addressing.

It is important for our patients to realize changes in their environment and nutrition that may be triggering inflammation. Certain foods such as cheese and wine can increase sensitivity. Our nutritionist can help you identify different foods that may be causing you pain and reduce the triggers.

We also encourage our patients to practice good posture. If you work at a desk all day, bad habits can develop and lead to poor posture and spinal misalignment. Additionally, TMJ/TMD may contribute, prior head or neck injuries resulting in cranial involvement or anywhere else in the spine for that matter may be an influence with the migraines or headaches. Our chiropractors, Dr. Mark J. Freund and Dr. Nicole Gopaul, can begin addressing your headaches with a thorough evaluation of your spine, cranium and habits.

Chronic headaches can limit your ability to perform everyday activities and function normally and may get worse without treatment. Through chiropractic care, we can find the source of the ache and help you find long-term relief. Some un-common therapies that should be considered are Atlas Orthogonal, Cranial work, evaluating the level of the pelvis and soft tissue, or addressing inflammatory issues.
